When will I receive my order?
For domestic orders, all items will be shipped via UPS. Please allow 14 business days for processing and shipping. We will inform you if there is a delay that will exceed 30 days.

Shipping time for international orders varies from country to country. All items will be shipped United States Postal Service Priority International and should arrive within three weeks. Please contact us at shop@picturebookart.org for more details.

What forms of payment can I use?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express credit cards.

We regret that we are not able to accept purchase orders or Discover credit cards at this time.

Can I place my order over the phone?
If you prefer to order over the telephone, please call our store at 413.658.1129. If outside the United States, dial the appropriate United States access code first. Please have your order, shipping information, and credit card ready. Our store hours are 10am-4pm Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm Saturday, and 12pm-5pm Sunday EST.

Can I fax my order?
You can fax orders to the attention of the Museum Shop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 413.658.1139. Click here to print out our Fax Order Form.

Can I pay by check?
We accept personal or business checks from United States banks only. Checks can be made out to: The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and mailed to:

Can I pay with a purchase order?
We cannot accept purchase orders at this time. All orders must be pre-paid either with a credit card or check.

Can you ship to my P.O. or A.P.O. Box?
We can now ship to P.O. boxes and A.P.O. boxes on a special case basis. Please email shop@picturebookart.org for more information.

How do you estimate shipping costs?
Please allow 7-14 business days for most orders. Standard Delivery Shipping and Handling costs for orders within the contiguous United States are as follows:

For orders up to $15.00add $5.00
$15.01 - $30.00add $6.00
$30.01 - $40.00add $8.00
$40.01 - $50.00add $10.00
$50.01 - $75.00add $12.00
$75.01 - $100.00add $14.00
$100.01 - $125.00add $16.00
$125.01 - $150.00add $18.00
$150.01 - $200.00add $20.00
$200.01 and Upadd $25.00


Express and Rush orders require additional shipping.

International orders cannot be shippped Standard Delivery and require additional Shipping and Handling costs. Costs vary between countries and package weights.

Can orders be shipped internationally?
Orders from outside the continental U.S. and Canada will not display applicable shipping charges. Some destinations may require additional shipping charges. Additional shipping charges will be calculated by destination and weight. You will be quoted a shipping price via e-mail for your approval.

For international calls, first dial the appropriate US access code. All international orders are shipped via United States Postal Service Priority Express unless otherwise specified.

How can I receive a discount?
All Eric Carle Museum Members receive at least a 10% discount on all shop items, excluding Gift Certificates and Memberships. Join now to apply the discount to your current order!

What is your return policy?
Items purchased from The Eric Carle Museum Shop may be returned in the condition and packaging they were received within 30 days of receipt of your order. If returned in saleable condition, with exception of items received already damaged or defective, you will be issued store credit to be redeemed at any time. We will refund the shipping costs only if the return is the result of an error on our part. Please contact the Shop prior to sending items at 413.658.1129 or email us at shop@picturebookart.org.

Will I be charged sales tax?
Residents of Massachusetts will be charged 5% sales tax on all purchases, with the exception of clothing, Memberships, and Gift Certificate items.


Massachusetts schools must provide their school tax exempt number at time of purchase.

Can I pay for my online order with an Eric Carle Museum Gift Certificate?
Gift Certificates cannot currently be used when placing an order by phone or online, but are redeemable during personal visits to the Eric Carle Museum Shop. Please note that Eric Carle Museum Gift Certificates are also honored at the Admissions Desk.

Will my order arrive in time for the holidays?

Orders must be placed BEFORE 5 p.m. EST on Saturday, December 15th to ensure delivery by December 24th at standard shipping costs.

Rush orders placed by:
• Monday, December 17th or 12 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 18th require additional $15.00 shipping for UPS 3 Day Select

• Wednesday, December 19th or 12 p.m. EST Thursday, December 20th require additional $20.00 shipping for UPS 2nd Day Air

• 12 p.m. EST Friday, December 22nd require additional $45.00 shipping for UPS Next Day Air

There will be no shipping Saturday, December 22nd through Wednesday, December 26th.
