First Fridays @ The Carle

Storytime at 5:30 pm and Film at 6:15 pm* The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art offers families the opportunity to meet, eat, and enjoy all of the Museum's regular public programs and special exhibitions at a time convenient for you!

Taking a cue from the Museum's popular Member PJ parties, which have been cited by families as the perfect bedtime transition for little ones, First Fridays @ The Carle invites visitors to head to the Museum after school/work, grab a quick and casual bite to eat in the Museum's Café, enjoy a Storytime in the Reading Library, drop by the Galleries, take in a short film in the Auditorium, and create a masterpiece in the Art Studio . . . all before bedtime!

The program runs from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on the first Friday of each month.

The Carle is proud to host a Patient Appreciation Day for our corporate sponsor Baystate Children’s Hospital. A range of activities will be held throughout the Museum including a continental breakfast in the Great Hall, card-making in the Art Studio, “make your own granola” in the Café, panel presentation in the Auditorium, and storytime in the Reading Library. Open to children ages 5 – 12. Attendees will receive a day pass to The Carle!

Allyn Johnston, the Editor in Chief of Harcourt Children's Books, and Marla Frazee, the author-illustrator of Roller Coaster, Walk On!, Santa Claus the World's Number One Toy Expert, and A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever offer an honest peek into the process of picture book making. Taking a cue from the Museum's popular Member PJ parties, which have been cited by families as the perfect bedtime transition for little ones, First Fridays @ The Carle invites visitors to head to the Museum after school/work, grab a quick and casual bite to eat in the Museum's Café, enjoy a Storytime in the Reading Library, drop by the Galleries, take in a short film in the Auditorium, and create a masterpiece in the Art Studio . . . all before bedtime!

The program runs from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on the first Friday of each month.
