The Eric Carle Museum is committed to providing the community with quality programming in the arts. Our small classes are taught by professional instructors and are designed to encourage students to make, appreciate, and think about art. Through connections with a range of materials and techniques we hope to promote a greater understanding of the visual arts.

Schedule your own classroom program
Grades K – 4
Bookmaking in Your Classroom
Designed to help your students explore the artistic possibilities, geographic history, and cultural significance of book making, this program can consist of one, two, or three 75-minute sessions. Each hands-on session will feature an introduction to a unique book form and an opportunity for students to use their imagination to make their own artist’s book.

$175 for each 75-minute program for each 10 – 25 student class.
Includes Non-refundable Registration and Materials Fee

Composing with Color

Inspired by the colors found inside and outside the Museum, expand on current drawing abilities through new materials, techniques and weekly critique with local artist Lorna Ritz. Instructor: Lorna Ritz

It Starts with a Story

Ages 3-4 with a caregiver. (Class size 4-5 children, each with a caregiver)

We’ll create 2-D and 3-D works inspired by picture books and our own stories using paint, collage and more. Instructor: Meghan Burch

Magical Mobiles

Ages 5-7. (Class size 6-8)

Using a variety of materials, students will create moving sculptures inspired by illustrations in the exhibition Flights Into Fantasy and the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder. Instructor: Angela Zammarelli
